I have garnered over 200 awards in my career including:
— The Robert F. Kennedy Journalism award for the coverage of the
problems of the disadvantaged.
— Sigma Delta Chi - Society of Professional Journalists Distinguished
Service Award for News Photography
— World Press Photo & Pulitzer Prize 1st runner-up (for MOVE)
—“Persons of the Week” on ABC-TV as a contributing
photographer and adviser to the Heart Gallery Project, a pilot program
for promoting adoption of older children.
I am presently making pictures for THE NEW YORK TIMES
(for over nine yrs), PEOPLE Magazine, USA Today, Corporate
clients and others.
As a contributing photographer to the book “Game Face”,
a Title IX project, I was exhibited at The Smithsonian (June 2001 –
Jan. 2002) before going on tour with the National Exhibition.
I have worked both here and abroad as a documentary photographer/
essayist/picture editor & assignment editor for the Philadelphia
Daily News, NY Daily News and Danbury News Times.
